Beardstown Sanitary District
The District's current secondary wastewater treatment facility consists of a headworks building, four (4) rectangular primary clarifiers, four (4) rotating biological contactor units (RBCS), two (2) rectangular secondary clarifiers, one (1) chlorine contact chamber, two (2) storm water clarifiers, and one (1)first flush basin.
The Plant's Design Average Flow is 1.13 million gallons per day (mgd);
Design Maximum Flow is 2.82 million gallons per day; first flush retention is 1.1 million gallons, and storm clarifiers are designed to handle 4.5 million gallons per day (MGD).
